Software Development for Mobile Platforms |
Mobile communication, personal computing and shared information services are converging at a rapid pace. That's why the existing commercial platforms for mobile equipment need an upturn to keep pace with the market's ever-increasing demands.
In the future, mobile users of these shared information services will be able to get a wide range of information when doing simple address search. They not only get the address itself, but the corresponding excerpt from the map and possibly also a route. adisoft's objective in this project was collaborating with its business partners to come up with a platform for secure and reliable mobile communication. |
|
It offers open interfaces while attaching to recognised standards so that any compatible application can take advantage of these interfaces. On the application level, Java technology had top priority. Another motivation of the VIVIAN Project was to make it easier for third parties to come up with mobile applications so that software development problems had to be solved for on a number of levels.
The VIVIAN Project articulated various examples of applications from a wide range of industries for illustrating the VIVIAN platform and varying additional services. The specifications and a description of the VIVIAN platform are available to mobile application developers in the form of a Developer's Guide and all of the results are on the VIVIAN Homepage available to the public under :
